Got kids who love to bake? This is for you!
Do your kids love to bake or not? If your kids love to bake then this is for you.š
Veggies vs. Dessert…which side wins at your houseā¦
…if the kids are making the call?
At my house Dessert wins.
The holidays are a tough time for healthy eating, especially when kids really just want to bake fun foods!
(If they want to get into the kitchen at all!)
Maybe…just this once…we should do something I donāt normally recommend.
What if we give them what they want?
When kids want to bake cookies, cakes, bars, and other goodies, we parents often worry about 3 things:
- Our waistlines
- Our kidsā sugar intake
- The mess theyāll make (and what if they ruin the recipe?)
Itās great that the child is interested in the kitchen, but sometimes we just want to say:
āNo honey, I just donāt have the energy.ā
Problem: If we teach them the kitchen is no place for them, they wonāt want to help us with other cooking tasks —
So letās start with what they want and be savvy parents who can pull them in further!
My friend/colleague/whatever Katie Kimball can help.
Sheās taught almost 50,000 kids through her cooking classes at Kids Cook Real Food, and this November, sheās calling all those kids who just want to bake.
Good news: This wonāt be a food-coloring-sugar-high-sprinkle-fest with one-inch thick frosting!
Katieās enrolling kids NOW in a new Holiday Baking Challenge
Your kids can build basic skills theyāll need for all the recipes they āsearch upā to feed their sweet tooth, BUT the recipes demonstrated in the lessons are leveled up, including:
- Whole grains
- Vegetables
- Less sweetener
Huzza whaaaaa???
Thatās right, and itās all still baking.
Katieās 4 kids join her for pro-filmed videos so you all can learn ātogetherā!
Itās like MasterChef Jr. meets Kids Baking Championship meets Kale…and they all get along. š
